another stroller ? travel system vs. snap and go

I'm really leaning towards snap and go + car seat instead of the whole system. Most car seat comes with a base anyway, right?.

What did you pick and why?

Re: another stroller ? travel system vs. snap and go

  • Most car seats come with a base.  We purchased an extra base for DH's car.  Loved the snap and go.  Light weight.  Easy to fold.  Less pricey.  LESS BULKY.  I don't know that many moms who used their travel systems once the baby got too big for the car seat....most of them switched to a lighter weight umbrella stroller.

  • snap n go...very light, very easy to use, etc.

my mom bought us a bigger stroller and I hate it. I wish she would have bought a nicer umbrella stroller, but I don't turn down freebies. But it's enormous, takes up my entire trunk, etc.  I don't use it much except for around the neighborhood.  I love my snap n go for going to the mall, etc.

  • I have twins so a bit different, but I had the double snap and go and couldnt have done without it. It was so light weight and easy. And then you can get a smaller lightweight stroller for when they outgrow the infant seat. Much easier to maneuver than the bigger strollers!
  • We purchased an extra base for DH's car.  I did not get the snap-n-go initially and after a couple weeks went out and bought one.  Best decision ever.  We did not opt for a travel system b/c most are heavier and I have a back injury.  I ended up getting the Bugaboo Frog b/c of the weight (only 16lbs) and the snap-n-go.  I have since also picked up a maclaren volo for quick trips.
  • I have the metrolite system.  Love it because I can take my fair skinned boy in sunny weather and close the canapy either direction  to block the sun.  Also works to block rain or snow.   I've logged probably 100 miles with the stroller so far and it's pretty smooth.  The only downfall of the snap and go is the lack of canapy coverage.  I'm outside constantly, so I've got my money's worth.
  • We did the snap and go and LOVED it now I have a "real" storller and miss my snap and go.
  • We are planning to get the Baby Jogger City Mini with the infant seat adapter as our only stroller for now.  I had planned to get the Snap N Go, but it seems like the City Mini will do the same job, plus it can serve as a stroller when the baby is bigger and out of the carrier.

We did the snap n go and it would have probably worked out better if DD liked her car seat.  She hated it, so I would wear her in a carrier instead.  She's finally getting used to it, but I'm now upgrading to a big bulky stroller instead. I only ever move it from my trunk to the street, so weight isn't as big of an issue as I thought.
  • I couldn't make it without both.

We use the travel system for larger outings, and around the neighborhood, etc.  We don't want DD strapped in her infant seat for too long, and would prefer she have more roominess in a full stroller.

For quick trips, we use the snap n go.

For super manueverability, we use an umbrella stroller.
