I don't like anything BRU has to offer, but I don't want to spend $400 either. Any suggestions? I like Pottery Barn Kids, but still haven't seen anything to get excited about. By the way, I'm having a precious little girl.
JCPenney - Its their Classic bedding.. I forget the full name. Pink and Brown polka dots. No animals, or characters, or flowers or insects. Just a plain, girly pattern with dots and scalloped edges.
I got my bedding custom made because I couldn't find anything that I was in love with either. Look into that option if you really don't see anything that catches your eye.
My mom made mine. It is in shades of blues, tan and brown. She used various fabrics (circles, stripes, dots, solids). No theme. It's simple and sweet and I can't wait to get the nursery done!
I didn't get a bedding set (I just don't see the point, except them being cute). All we used was sheets and swaddling blankets. My Grandmother made DD a comforter later on.
I found bedding by lambs & ivy that I liked, and then I did a search on their website to see the stores in my area that carried it (turns out it was at Baby Depot). It's www.lambsivy.com

I've tried target and stuff fell apart when iw ashed it. I stick with Pottery Barn kids as I have loved their linens. I got a lot of other stuff at target, but for linens I like high quality and SOFT. I skipped the quilt with #1 to save money and on this one I skipped the bumper to save money.
I looked EVERYWHERE for months, but could not justify spending $600+ on the Serena & Lily bedding that I originally fell in love with. The price on this bedding is ridiculously amazing - and it is absolutely beautiful. The pictures on Target's website are horrible, but a couple of mine are here:
I found mine online, then bought it off EBay (brand new) for a third of the regular price. It was still cheaper to have it shipped to Canada from the US than to buy something here, and way nicer. It arrived safely and quickly. This is what I got:

sheets in light blue - baby gap. incredibly soft. great deal. highly recommend them!!
As far as I found, anything "neutral" sucks, so I bought my own fabric!

Target.com
I paid $13.74 for a 4pc nursery set. It was on clearance...I honestly spent more on the shipping!
This - the CoCaLo line which is super cute.
