sort of ef-related gift question...

When we are invited to birthday parties for kids in the neighborhood or ds's school (when I don't have a clue what the child is interested in), I like to give books because they don't get outgrown as quickly as clothes and the plastic junk toys that will end up in a landfill.  To that end, I was thinking of getting a few of these, to keep on hand:

Question: in your opinion, (I know, it's hard to tell from looking at them, but guess?) what age range would these cover? For instance, 1-4 years? or would a 4-year old be insulted?

  • Hard to tell from the listing, but they seem too basic for a 4-yr old. I'd think 1-3. But I'm also notorious for getting my nieces and nephews books too old for them.
