Success after IF

Question for Lovenox users

Did your Dr. say anything to you about not using NSAID's or Tylenol at all? My girlfriend who's a nurse said I should probably stay away from them, but my peri didn't say anything. II haven't slept well in a few nights and feel pretty crappy today.  I'd like to take one Tylenol PM tonight, but am not sure if it's super safe.  Thought I'd ask you ladies before calling my peri.  Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: Question for Lovenox users

  • I'm on Lovenox and was feeling really crappy last week. I called and talked to my nurse, who said that it was safe for me to take Tylenol. I've taken it a couple of times this week, and had no problems.

  • Hello.  I think in general, when pregnant they advise against NSAIDS (Ibuprofen/aspirin)but I am not exactly sure why the anti inflammatory drugs are bad.  Aspirin also helps with clotting (I think it's the veins that it helps, not the fibrin...or I could have it confused). So I could understand the use of Aspirin + lovenox caution.  I actually take a low dose aspirin everyday in addition to my lovenox.  I have never heard that you can't take Tylenol when on lovenox.  That is the only thing I take when I am in pain.  Tylenol is perfectly safe.

  • While pg, I took baby aspiring plus Lovenox everyday. I was also able to take Tylenol, but could not take NSAIDS.

  • Tylenol is fine, both during pg and while taking Lovenox.  Aspirin is another anti-coagulation drug, so is sometimes used for those of us with clotting problems.  I wouldn't take it during pg unless put on it by your doctor.  NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aleeve, etc) are not safe during pg because they can cause a heart problem in the baby.
  • Yes, my Dr. also has me on a daily baby aspirin.
  • Thank you so much.  I'm also on low dose aspirin and guess I was just worried about taking Lovenox, baby aspirin and the tylenol all in one day.  I appreciate you all letting me know it's ok.

    Many thanks!
