Does anyone know of a good in-home daycare in the Plano area? A friend of mine is looking for someone to watch her baby in home. She is due in October and is starting to look for places...I figured some of you ladies might have some info?

It is really hit or miss. If she can't find someone by word of mouth, I would recommend local papers. That is how I found our sitter.
The stars seriously had to align just right. She normally has a waiting list a mile long. I just pray she has a spot open when we have #2.
I know I sound crazy ... but I found our DCP on Craigslist. And she is WONDERFUL. Everyday I thank my lucky stars I found her when I did and someone else didn't snatch her up. Seriously.
It's definitely hit or miss though ... and it's hard for people to recommend in-home care because honestly, I don't WANT people to know about mine ... she only has 3 spots and I don't want her to anyone to steal her away, lol!!

Besides the local paper and Craigslist, your friend can check out this website for in-home/centers in her area.

My friend is originally from the Red Oak area and has not been able to find any word-of-mouth recs for the Plano area at all. I didn't even realize or think about people not wanting to give the name of their own... Sorry guys I have no kids yet so I am not up on this stuff... But she is about to be a single mommy and I am trying to help her.
