I have my first appointment on the 20th but with the nurse and then an appointment on August 4th with the actual doctor. Is that normal to see the nurse the first time and then the doctor the second time? I just think that's odd.
It depends on your practice. They may not do anything the first appt. other than make you take another pee test and get your baseline measurements (weight, BP, etc.). Even if they do a dating u/s, the nurses in my doc's practice do those themselves all the time.
Like pp said, it depends on your practice. I have heard that before. My ob didn't have me go in until 6 weeks, but I've heard of some not seeing newly pg women until 8 weeks.
That's pretty common - they will confirm your PG and probably have you fill out all kinds of health history paperwork at the first appt, then you'll have the Q&A time with the dr after.?

Yeah. It's sounding like I won't see the doctor at all the first time. Which is not biggie but I'd rather just have the nurse stuff done the same day as the doctor visit. But ehhh...what can I do other than change doctors.

Ahhhh...okay. I'll be 6 weeks when I see the nurse and then 8 weeks when I see the doctor. This waiting is going to kill me.
