Cost for full time childcare?

Those of you with kids in full time childcare, can you tell me what you pay per week?  (Also, let me know if it's a center or home-based.)  A co-worker asked me what was typical, but DS goes part time & our sitter was kind of a favor, so we get a really good deal.  TIA!

  • $135 a week at a home center.

All the regular centers in our area were 200+ per week.

  • Thanks ladies! I asked my SIL too & she said she pays $780/month for home based care.  My co-worker looked into a center that was $920/month which sounded expensive to me, so it sounds like there's a broad price range out there.

  • Also, if anyone has a home-based provider you'd recommend in the Keller area, please let me know.  Thanks!

We got sooooo lucky. I was really close to putting her in a center when I found our sitter and she is wonderful. I think we would have had to wait a lot longer to TTC if we had gone with the center.

I am too - T is almost ready to move to the Toddler room at school, but until then we're paying $230/week in Plano.  It will go down when she moves, but until then - ouch, man.

  • Jack goes part time to an in-home place ... and we pay $90 for 3 days a week.  Full time there would be $125 a week. Our wonderful DCP is in Hurst  :)

  • We pay $240 a week / $960 a month at a center. It looks as if it's cheaper to go with the in - home route.
  • $235/week at a center.  I'm jealous of the $135/week!

  • I pay $100/wk for home-based childcare but it's a close friend of mine.  I believe my SIL pays around $125-150/wk for the same area (NW FW) at a different in-home daycare.
  • We didn't move here until DD was a year old, so I'm not sure about infant care...

When she was a toddler (1-year-old), most centers were in the $225/week range and most good in-home places were in the $150-$175/week range. We ended up going with a SAHM who watched only DD (no other babies, kind of like a nanny but out of her home instead of ours) for $200/week.

We just moved her into a preschool. We're currently paying $650/month ($150/week) for full-time care. It'll go up to $715/month ($165/week) when the school year starts in September.

    We're in the Carrollton area.

Ditto I am jealous too!  We pay $230/week for the toddler room.  We drop another 5 buck when he moves to the next room.

  • $180 per week for home care.  That's for 4 to 6 days a week.
She is the wife of one of my assist. kitchen manager.  She just has K and her own 3 boys ages 2.5, 4 and 7.  She is awesome and her boys love K (they're trying to convince me to let them keep him....um no.  But it's really cute how protective they are of him.)
