  I'd talk to your pedi. DS's hides a little bit but not as much as it sounds like your DS's does. His comes out a little more when we wipe it, too.

  If you pull it back and wipe the skin THEN push it up and wipe in the crease at the bottom, it should help, but if it's hiding that much, you might want to ask.

  It's possible that too little foreskin was taken during the circumcision. We had some issues with my DS, too, so we went to a pediatric urologist to get things checked out. Turns out things are A-OK and no additional surgery is needed. It never hurts to have a professional opinion.

  DS got red for a few days.  We just made sure to clean it really well with each diaper change and put aquaphor on it.  It cleared up in like 2 days.

  make sure you pull it back and clean it daily.  If your baby is chubby the fat pads behind the penis can push it forward making it look like it was not circumcized - this will go away as baby thins out/grows older.  Griffin had this problem and now he looks fine.

  as your pedi to look at it at your next visit to make sure... sometimes they don't take enough off, but usually it's a fat pad issue.

  If it gets really red (and you know it is healed from the surgery) it could be a yeast infection in there- a type of diaper rash that needs an antifungal cream to cure... the doc can Rx something.  Griffin had this a few times.

  DS's reattached so during each diaper change we pulled the skin back and used a wipe to pull the skin per pedi orders then we put vasaline on it just like you did initially. It has gotten much better.
