Question for mom's of late walkers...

My nephew is turning 1 this month and doesn't even try and cruise.  Even if you take him under the arms and move him across the floor he won't move his legs in a walking motion.  I try not to compare but the only other babies I know were cruising around 8-9 months.  He crawls like a champ but nothing else.  Anybody else?

    DS walked with push toys around 10 months, but didn't walk alone until 14 months.  He was just very cautious.  But, when he did start walking, he took off and never stopped.

    Emerson just started walking 10 days ago when my H and I were in San  Fran and she was with my mom!  She'll be 15 months tomorrow.  There is hope!

    My best friend's DS didn't even crawl till he was 11 months old! And he is fine! (He's now 14.5 months and doesn't walk yet, but is now cruising.)

    I know that it's not like he'll never walk... I guess I was just wondering what age babies reached that milestone if they reached the first later.

    DD didn't cruise until she was 1 year.  She is still cruising/holding onto my hand at 13 1/2 months.

    DS didn't start to cruise until a week after his first birthday.  He will walk with our hands now but is still aways from walking.  Each kid develops at his/her own pace.   My ped said that only 50% of kids are walking by their birthday.  I wouldn't worry about your nephew.

    DD started crawling at 8 months but still doesn't walk. She gets around pretty fast on her own and does some assisted walking with our holding her up or with push toys, but that's it. No big deal, IMO. She'll figure it out when she's ready.

    My DD JUST started to walk between objects and cruise right at 12 months. Now, she cruises all the time. She loves to be on her feet. I'm just waiting for her to walk now. When it happens, it happens fast.
