My petty vent of the week - DH and IL's

This is so lame, but I've got to get it off my chest.

ILs are visiting for a couple of weeks.  MIL has been saying how glad she is that she can be here to visit, "help out" and "give me a break".  OK.... then, help, for crying out loud!!! 

Last night, we drove them 2.5 hours (with a toddler in the car, mind you!) to see a tourist attraction.  After entertaining DD in the car, upon arrival, I spent the entire time chasing DD up and down the boardwalk while they watched the show in the stands.  Then, we moved inside to the visitors center where I got to carry the huge heavy diaper bags and beach towels and chase DD around the gift shop, madly trying to keep her from touching the breakables and frantically picking up every non-breakable that she pulled off the shelves.  I ended up crawling around on my hands and knees after her because it was simply easier than bending down with all of the crap I was carrying to pick everything up.  I eventually tracked them down in the nature observatory enjoying the tour, all empty-handed.

This, after my OB's nurse told me just yesterday no more heavy lifting or carrying your toddler around, or your SPD will come back.

Thanks alot folks.  This is just one example of how 'helpful' they've been.

    Hey this might not help, but you need to not go out with them again while they visit, Tell them your doctor said you can't. Thats?ridiculous, your going to go into pre-term labor!

    Wow I would have to say something to them. Dont risk yourself to please them they can find their own way around may sure you relax yourself

    I don't think that's petty at all.   Shame on DH for just standing by while you were doing all that work.   If you've been told to take it easy this early, there's a darn good reason.
