In lieu of more expensive brands (See Kai Run; Pedipeds), I recently checked out StrideRite, but learned they're pretty pricey, too. I'm looking for some sandals for DD -- anyone know of any other brands or stores to check out? I'm looking for something simple -- preferably no cartoon characters or glitter!
Re: "Middle-of-the-road" Shoes?
I got Reagan cute white ones at Payless.
Sometimes you can find good deals at Famous Footwear.
Crazy Christmas Kids!
ditto marshall's and target.
M has some white keds sandals, which i think are from marshalls. gymboree is also having a big sale right now.. mi sil got maddy some brown sandals there for less then $10.
I must be the only one that doesn't have luck at Target with kids' shoes. They never have the sizes I need for the ones that are cute, and all the rest are just eh. And I haven't found their girls' shoes to be very cute. Although there are a few cute ones, the majority are very glittery, or they have flower appliques on them, which is NMS.
I had good luck at Kohl's.
I loved Target shoes up until size 5 - DD wore their pre-walker shoes and they were super cute with soft flexible "leather" soles (she wore them as a walker too) But their larger shoes all seem to have very stiff soles and DD still doesn't walk well in really stiff shoes.
Mostly she wears striderite. They have a sale a couple times a year plus as a pp mentioned, the department stores sell them and put them on sale more often. Most of DD's striderites have come from Dillards - all under $30. I did find a pair of sandals for DD at Marshalls that had a decently flexible sole too - oh, and they often have striderite shoes too.
I have found some good deals on See Kai Run at different times. We haven't tried Stride Rite, but I read this post today:
