That's a tough question. Ever since I was little playing dolls I always thought I'd have a son first. Now that we're TTC and using ART I'm pretty certain we'll have a boy first. So I answered 'girl' because I feel like fate is going to give me a boy so why not pick the opposite of fate? lol!

I picked boy though of course I will be thrilled with either. I always have seen it as a chance to play a part in raising a good peaceful boy. Plus I can do more girly things with a little one if needed, but I think I will be much better at boy things...well, unless it involves pretending to have fake guns. eeek. Ok, so basically I would choose a boy and DW would choose a girl. I keep telling her we are so lucky because we will be happy then either way!
I picked girl - because I LOVE cute girly clothes and I am generally more into girly things than boy things (I can't catch or hit a ball to save my life!) But 3 years later, I am holding my own in a imaginary games of pirates, can hit a ball off of a t ball stand, and play a mean game of cars. I wouldn't trade my loud, rambuncious, pirate loving, gassy (and thinks it is hysterical), boys for anything.
I picked boy because I've had this gut feeling for a long time that our first will be a boy. I think a boy first, then a girl sounds great Of course we will be beyond thrilled no matter what.
We think we are having a boy and will be pleased as punch about our baby when he or she comes. We would love to be able to name the baby after S's grandmother so we would like a girl first. Also my best friend has two girls and I would love to have our baby and M's baby Sophie be friends. I am a year younger than bf and my baby will be a year younger than Sophie. How cute would that be! But really I will be happy with a boy too.

I haven't voted yet because I honestly have no idea which box to check! We go back and forth all the time about which we'd "prefer" (though of course, we'll be thrilled with whoever we end up with!!). We see several benefits to raising a girl and several to raising a boy.
I'm sorta expecting a boy, though, since we're using a trigger and I think almost everyone I know who has used a trigger and gotten pregnant has had a boy or boys. I figure this is because of the whole "male sperm swim faster but female sperm live longer" thing. Though if anyone knows of someone who has used a trigger to O and has had a girl, I'd be interested to know!

I picked girl but for the record, we would be thrilled with either. We actually have a huge stash of boy clothing, just in case.
For as as long as I can remember I have always referred to any possible children as my daughter(s). I always just saw myself with a girl, S did too. I guess it worked out since we have two girls now!

SAIF gets polled about this alot. The numbers on the board back up all studies I've seen that show with ART the odds of a boy are about 60% and girl 40%. I'm taking an educated guess that many of the ladies on SAIF triggered and 40% of those ladies have girls. Even if you take out the IVFers you're still looking at a handful of girl babies through ART.

I picked girl but would also love a boy (and I believe C is the same).
We have mainly women in our extended family (only a few men) and I have always imagined having a daughter, until recently when I've starting to think about (hope for?) a boy.
The superficial reasons include: We have a perfect boy's name chosen and already some (blue) baby clothes (that a girl could wear too). I don't love all the pick but I think a lot of girl clothes are adorable.
Either way we'll be happy and if we get two of one, we may do foster care with a preference for the other.
