My boss wants me to think of some ideas in regards to compress week, flex time or any other flexible schedule for our employees. We currently have flex time work hours begin at 7,7:30, 8, 8:30, and 9 and end 8 hours after the start time. Please share with me your workplace's flexible schedule and the details. Thanks in advance.

Re: NBR-Please share your workplace's flexible schedule
Our full-time options...
Flex time, similar to what you mentioned, except it doesn't necessarily have to be an 8-hour block. For example, you might work 7 AM-2 PM and then 9-10 PM.
Compressed work week: Full-time hours (40 hours/week), but compressed into fewer than 5 days. For example, four 10-hour days or three 12-hour days + one 4-hour day.
Tele-work: Working regularly from a location other than your office (usually your home). I work from home full-time; others work from home a few days a week.
Our part-time options...
Part-time: Working less than 40 hours/week.
Job share: Two part-time employees share a position, e.g. one employee might work Mon/Tue/Wed and the other might work Wed/Thu/Fri. (So the employees get the benefit of a part-time schedule and the organization gets the benefit of a "full-time employee," even if it's actually TWO employees sharing the workload.)
Mommy to DD1 (June 2007), DS (January 2010), DD2 (July 2012), and The Next One (EDD 3/31/2015)
We have to work 40 hours a week.
We do have very flexible schedules as far as coming in late or leaving early for appointments or anything.
One thing I really do like is that everyone in my dept works from home one day a week (there are 3 of us besides my boss, so we all take our own day) and on our work from home day, as long as we have the hours in at some point during the week, we can shut it down anytime after 1. I am lucky and work from home most Fridays, and it is really nice to be done between 3 and 4 depending on the day/week - and when I am lucky - I am done around 2!
