The Peanut Shell

Does anyone have this sling? I have the Moby and love it for home use but find it kinda tricky for when were on the go ( hot, bulky, and tricky to put on in public as I hate for the fabric to touch the floor). What are your thoughts on this sling? TIA!

  • I use it at home but don't like it that much. It is hard to get the sizing right.
  • I have 2, one that is stretch and one that isn't.

I love them both, but the stretch one is easier if you're just starting out with the sling

  • I had a different brand, but I hated the sling. I just got the Moby and I put it on before I go out.

  • I got one as a shower gift. Ada hates it. I want to get some other kind of sling so I can wear her around.

  • I don't have a peanut shell but in general pouch slings are great for quick ups and downs (like running errands).  Fit is super important on a pouch sling - lots of people end up with one that doesn't fit well and end up not liking it as a result.

A ring sling is another option to consider - it does the same carries but is adjustable so it's easier to get the perfect fit.

I like use a short woven wrap for rebozo carries (very similar to ring sling or pouch carries) - like in my siggy.  That same short woven can be used for a back carry as well so it's my favorite carrier!

This website has good videos on using pouch and ring slings: https://zolowear.com/Wearing.aspx#1

Another option for something easier to manage than a long wrap would be a mei tai (like a babyhawk) or a soft structured carrier (ergo, beco) - these can be used for more carries than a ring sling or pouch but take a wee bit longer to get on.  Like woven wraps, they can be used for front, back and hip carries.
