Question about luteal phase and testing

I'm 15 dpo and getting negative test results, so I thought I was out this cycle.  But, I read on FF that you should test when you are out of your luteal phase ... I have a 16 day luteal phase, but I thought that at 14 and 15 dpo there should be enough HCG in my urine to be picked up, regardless of the length of my luteal phase.  Is that correct, or is there a relation to your luteal phase and how much HCG is produced?

I'm only questioning this b/c I normally have lots of cramps and bloating 3-4 days before AF normally comes, but that hasn't been the case.  I've just had minor cramps here and there.

    One can be pregnant and still get negative tests until 18dpo.  If you still get neg tests in a few days and no af, call your dr for a bloo test.
