Have you found that babies with reflux alway spit up? It seems that my DD shows most of the symptoms of reflux with the exception of spitting up. She is really gassy, very fussy, constantly squirming and arching her back, hiccups about every day. She is sometimes she is fussy at the breast and pulls away or gets her hands in the way which causes her to unlatch herself. During the night her stints of sleep get shorter and shorter starting at about 3 hours then by the end of the night down to an hour from start of one feeding to when she wakes up but while she is sleeping she is grunting and grunting away; however, she rarely spits up.
I am trying to figure out if she may have reflux or if DH and I were just blessed with an extremely grouchy baby. My poor baby seems to be in pain and I hate it! I have also tried Mylicon Drops and Gripe Water. The Gripe Water seems to help a little but not for long
I am going to call the pedi on Monday but wanted to know to know from experienced mommy's. TIA!
Re: Could my baby have reflux? Long
go back and look for my previous posts from the last week or so... I'm in the same boat.
things are looking a little better with the LO on zantac and I've eliminated dairy from my diet. he's also gained almost a pound in just over a week, so it may be growth spurt stuff too...
best of luck!
I have also heard dairy could do a number on babies so I haven't had any in 2 days now. I hope to see a difference soon. I love cheese and ice cream.
I am going to call the pedi 1st thing Monday morning. I am also going to get a cop of that book. Thank you ladies!
