Need opinion on daycare cost.

Does $185 a week seem reasonable for an infant?  TIA..

  • We paid $160 week for an in home.  HTH!

  • Yes, that is an average price for an infant in a home daycare. The centers will run an average of 275-350 per week.

  • yup. i paid 185 for 2 days a week at a center before my husband got laid off.

  • we paid $50 a day (so 250 a week)
  • We pay $190.00 per week for a pre-schooler at a center. So that is a great price for an infant!
  • That seems like a great rate!  I did a lot of looking and we ended up with $200 a week for infant.  I found a lot of in-homes in the area we were looking to be between $200 and $250.  I checked out our church daycare and they are $305.  Our community day care center (SLP) is $326 a week.  I haven't looked at the big centers b/c we knew we didn't want to go with one of those (I've heard they are $350+ a week in many places).
  • We pay $170/wk for an in-home. If you're looking near St Paul Park, you might consider shopping around a bit. I have a friend in Cottage Grove who pays $150/wk. Also keep in mind what they cover. For example, a lot of places don't cover food until they're eating table food. Our daycare would provide formula if needed, plus all purees and puffs, etc, until she started table food. Some places provide diapers. Ours doesn't. So those costs add up quickly, especially if you use formula. GL!
  • yes, I work at daycare in St. Cloud and we charge 180/week for infants. So its in the same price range
