I am adding stuff to my registry. Baby Bargains recommends Avent & Dr. Brown bottles. On the Target website the reviews say Avent bottles leak. I plan on breastfeeding so I would only them for when I am work for breastmilk.
I've been dealing with Avent bottles for the last 4 years and the only times they've leaked is when I didn't screw the nipple on correctly because I was in a hurry. I still love the Avents.?
Both brands are really good.. the only thing I would take into consideration is how many more parts Dr. Brown's have (making cleaning a bit more difficult). ?
Register for one of each, and maybe a couple of other brands. I breastfed dd, and we had to go through 5 different brands of bottles before she settled on the playtex drop-ins (with latex not silicone nipple...). Don't register for the gift packs, they come with a lot of bottles that might get wasted.

Honestly, I wouldn't stock up on too many of one kind because you don't know what your baby will prefer. We started with Soothie because they came with my first breast pump. DD refused to drink out of them. We tried Playtex Ventaire since I got one free. She refused that one. I tried Avent and she loved it. DS wouldn't take one ever.
If you're planning to BF, my La Leche leaders recommend using the wider neck bottles because they are less confusing and seem more like a breast since they are wider. Avent is wider than many, and Dr. Browns makes wide neck bottles.
For this baby, I'll try Dr. Brown's first because that's what I have now. My Avent ones were from nearly 3 years ago, and when the BPA stuff was going on, BRU let you take them back (even used) and exchange them for Dr. Browns or Born free. I'm guessing Avent are BPA free now.

With the recommendation from other bumpies, we registered for both. Everyone basically said you kind of have to wait and see which one your LO prefers rather than just picking one or the other.

I'd get one of each. Never know what baby will and wont like.
THIS. Every baby is different. We had to go through all kinds of bottles before we finally found one Ethan liked. Needless to say if you register for one type and you get a ton of them, what happens if baby hates that brand. Best advice is to just buy one or a few of each brand or don't register for any and see what people bring you at the baby shower and then go from there.

We LOVE Dr. Brown's. They work great. I don't think Noah has ever has gas.
Each bottle has 5 parts...the bottle, the nipple, the collar plus the two inside parts that are "extras" to Dr. Brown bottles. It really isn't much more cleaning and it takes all of 5 seconds to put one together in the middle of the night
Register for the sets of the bottles that you want, and a single of each. When baby gets here, try the single. If it works open that set. You can return the other unopened set and exchange for the set you want.
We also used Avent. They worked great for us. The only time we had a leak was when we over-tightened the bottle causing a gap. HTH
I LOVE Dr. Brown's. If you get the dishwasher basket, it's not a problem to clean them. (Even by hand isn't hard at all.) We tried a million different tricks to try to get the Avent caps screwed on right, and usually had a huge mess. (When I had to work my butt off to pump a few drops of breastmilk, seeing it pour out onto my daughter's onesie broke my heart.) Too loose, and they leak. Too tight, and they leak. Huge pain.
Born Free are also nice. Fewer parts than Dr. Brown's, but a stiffer vent than Avent, so less mess. But spendy.
Since you're planning to breastfeed, consider the wide ones.
My daughter was super picky about almost everything in life, except for her bottle. We started it really early (earlier than is idea for breastfeeding, but we had no choice) and so she never fought it.

This is the suggestion that I got...
