Tummy lotion

Any recommendations for a good lotion to use?   All the ones marketed for pregnant women are so expensive!

Re: Tummy lotion

  • I have a "almost New" bottle of Palmer's with cocoa butter. I would (if you want) love to give it to you as I don't need it anymore & I feel bad just throwing it away.

  • I used bio-oil from Walgreens and it was about 13$.  I don't have a single stretch mark ,but they say it's all heredity and not lotions and potions.
  • I used bio-oil allll the time when I lived in South Africa as it also takes care of a sunburn really fast. I love bio-oil but it's oil and you have to wait a long time for it to dry. I just bought some regular cocoa butter lotion today but I haven't tried it out yet, but I'll let you know. :)
  • I have been using Burt's Bees Mama Bee since about 20-some weeks and don't have a single stretch mark (knock on wood).  Yes, a lot of it is hereditary, but the stuff makes my skin feel really moisturized and I'm not itchy at all.  It was about $15 for the tub, but again, I've been using it every day and will probably have used most, if not all of it, by the time the babe is about a month old or so (I'm about to have this baby any day now!)  So while its not cheap, its cositng me less than $1 a week.  I use a good amount (a quarter size or so?) and rub all over my tummy and down my hips.

Glad to hear you had good luck with the Burt's Bees stuff. I picked some up at my local Target on clearance. I am only 12 weeks so I haven't started using it yet, but hopefully I have equally good results!
  • Payne2B2008 :  Thank you for your offer for the lotion, it turns out my stepmom is a big burts bee fan and picked up some mama bee lotion for me.  Hopefully this does the trick!

I think the women in my family have all had minimal stretch marks, which is a good sign, but I want to do anything I can to keep them away!
