2nd Trimester

Why would you yell at a pregnant girl? Heartless B@*&#h

I am a server at a restaurant, and today at work I was waiting on the RUDEST B**** . I thought I was behaving myself considering how rude she was being. When she got up to leave she looked at me and YELLED.. "You suck, you really need to get a new job". My jaw dropped. She continued to tell me what a bad job I did and how rude I was to her. I yelled for my manager to keep me from literally knocking her block off. She told my manager "Its obvious that she's pregnant, but she needs to get a grip" UM... what does me being pregnant have anything to with her f-ing food? In my 7 years of working at this place I have NEVER had a customer complain about me. My other tables saw and heard the whole fiasco and were very nice to me. ( I was visibly shaken up). My question is.. if its so OBVIOUS im pregnant why would you go out of your way to be crule. Do you have no heart at all?

  • Some people are far to concerned with their own issues to regard anyone elses feelings. I don't think it's EVER appropriate to be rude to a server. So shame on her! If she was truly upset about the lever of service there are more mature ways to go about complaining about it, getting in someones face, pg or not, is never acceptable.

  • Aw, I'm so sorry you had to go through that.  If it makes you feel any better, I would have jumped in and started screaming at her ridiculously rude *ss if I was another customer and saw that.  No one should yell at anyone like that if they are dissatisfied with their service, let alone if you are pregnant.  She's obviously a rude b*tch, don't pay any attention to that.

Some people enjoy being mean to people who can't really do anything about it (I'm glad you didn't just stand there and take it). I remember being cursed at by some man as a 16-year-old grocery store cashier because I asked to see his driver's license. What kind of grown-ass man curses at a 16 year old? And when I was a waitress (I was 19 at the time), this guy told me told he was going to SUE ME for false advertising (not the restaurant - ME) because my boss raised the price on the hot wings, and was too cheap to order new menus. He just put stickers with the new price on the old menus, and the guy peeled off the sticker and then asked me how much the wings were (I saw him peel off the sticker). Then when I told him the price, he started screaming at me that he was going to sue me. LOL.

But it does take a special kind of evil to be a b*tch to a pregnant girl. I hope your other tables gave you fantastic tips. I wonder how people like that even stand themselves, ugh.

  • Wow.  How sad that she has no social skills and no ability to deal with whatever was going on in her life to make her that angry at the world. What a sad life you must have if you feel the need to scream at strangers to feel powerful.

Way to keep your cool, though.

  • WOAH!  I'm a pregnant waitress, too - and I definitely have LESS patience for a**hole customers these days, but I haven't had anyone be an a** like this about my being pregnant.  What a jerk!  I bet she thought that she would get something free if she complained that your pregnancy was somehow an issue.  RUDE!!!  I had a guy the other night complain that his food was taking too long (wasn't) and then send it back for being "cold" when I gave it to him.  I said I would bring him a new order and he said no so I said "oh, so you're in a hurry, then?  I'll bring your check".....and basically made them be finished and pay and leave.  Hahahaha.  Be a jerk and I'm done with you - that's my new motto.  He kept pushing his chair out into my pathway and I would push it in every time I walked by - finally I grabbed the chair and moved it around the corner where he couldn't get it!  LOL!  I guess my ability to handle people's crap has gone out the window!  Good luck, keep your chin up!
  • Grrr.  I HATE rude people.  I must say that I also have a lot less tolerance for that these days and don't have a problem voicing it either!  People that do that kind of stuff need called out on it.  If they have enough balls to act that way, I have enough to say something.  It's just so uncalled for, dammit! :)

  • yikes, I'm so sorry you had to go through that! That's just completely uncalled for, pregnant or not :(
  • I've been waitressing for 10 years and I've learned that there are some EXTREMELY rude people that you can never please.  I think somethimes they're just trying to get a free meal.  You just have to let it go and know you are the better person and obviously they are very unhappy psychopath beeotchs with no life and nothing better to do than to ruin a pregnant woman's day.

  • im sorry that happened to you. she is obviously one of those people who is always biitchy and nothing can make her happy. you did the right thing!
