Yes, I know someone with the name Finn on it's own. You can also use Finn as a nn for Finlay, Griffin, Phinneaus, Finnegan, Finbar, Findlay, and I even know someone who used it as a nn for Finch, which was a family name.

I knew a little boy named Finn (not shortened from anything). I think it's a find stand-alone name. It seems like the girls (arg) are taking Finley over - I hate it when they do that!
It's one of the most popular first names (not nn or short for something else either) in Ireland; so, yeah, lots of people do it, just maybe not a bunch in America. I think it's an awesome name with such a great story (Fionn MacCool).
Re: another ? about Finn
yep, Dr. Finn Dandridge I believe. The Derek vs. Finn episode!!
Love Finn!
Not only do I think it's fine alone, but I prefer it that way
I completely agree. I've seen Finley on several girls lately, and I think Finnegan is too close to "Phenergan."
If you decide to go with a longer version, I like Findlay/Finlay or Griffin (nn Finn) for a boy.
I love the name Finn. I've been trying to warm my DH up to the idea but he hates it.
