Transition to daycare - help!
So, my 14 month old daughter started daycare this week. She is going 3 days per week but this week we did 2 partial days. She is so distraught. She isn't really napping much there and she refuses to eat while she is there. I know it is going to be rough the first 2 weeks especially since she has never been left anywhere before, but anyone have any advice?? Thanks!

My daughter was a little older (2 years) and was also used to being left (we had taken her to the house of a SAHM for a year prior to starting preschool).
It's been four weeks of going full-time and we're still working out some of the kinks. Napping took over a week to get better, and it's still not always great. We're still figuring out good lunches to pack for her -- we provided food with our previous sitter, but she could refrigerate and reheat stuff, while the preschool does not. We're also having pooping issues, of all things, i.e. she doesn't do it at school and then is horribly gassy in the evenings. So it's definitely not smooth sailing quite yet!
Hang in there... would it be possible to send her full-time for a week or two? I know it seems counterintuitive, but it might help her settle in faster, versus just going a few hours here and there. DD was so exhausted by the middle of her first week that I almost picked her up early one day to bring her home and take a nap, but decided it was important to keep to the full-day schedule... sure enough, that ended up being the first day that she napped at school.
