QOTW:
1) What is/was/will be your most exciting baby purchase?
2) Updates? How are you feeling?
Re: **Central PA Moms to Be Check In!**
1) What is/was/will be your most exciting baby purchase?
I think right now, the most exciting will just to start getting things for the room. The big items we're hoping our parents and relatives will get us gc for our shower (gc since we can't exactly ship everything back to TX) We want to get the bedding, though. it's the first and only I could find with bunnys. it's called Sweetpea. Once we have that, then we can coordiate the rest of the room around it.
2) Updates? How are you feeling?
I think I have finally past the ms hump. This past weekend and o far going forward i've been feeling considerable better. I realized last week that my throwing up was do to indigestion and asked if Zantac was ok to take. I've been taking that once a day since Friday and that has definate;y made the difference. I still get a bit nausous if i don't eat enough or often enough, but that's a far cry from feeling that way all the time.
1. I really think there was no topping the crib!
My second most exciting, as silly as this is, was my first pack of diapers. I know that will get old quick, but it made it so REAL, more real than any furniture did!
2. Well, Cole is 95% going to be a July baby. I have a liver condition now, so I'll be getting weekly bloodwork to watch my numbers. When my levels hit a certain number, they will take him - hopefully we will get to 37 weeks before that happens.
We finally have everything ready for him though! His room is set up, all his furniture is in, new carpeting throughout the house, and everything is washed, ready, and unpacked. All we have left to do is hang the pictures on his walls, install the car seat bases, and pack the hospital bag!
Eek...I can't believe my name is just about at the top of the list now. It seems like yesterday I was way at the bottom! Tomorrow is July 1st already...OMG!!!
1. Hmmm, that's a tough one. I really enjoyed purchasing everything but a couple of my favorites include the stroller (I can't WAIT to take Keaton on walks) and all of the little outfits (I could go crazy buying everything).
2. I'm in a lot of pain now...not TERRIBLE pain or anything but constantly crampy and he is really pushing against my belly in there which makes it very uncomfortable to sleep, walk, sit, and stand. The braxton hicks contrax are coming more and more so I know things are starting to get prepared in there. I can't stand or sit for very long and walking is a whole different story now. I struggle to walk up the stairs and small trips to the grocery store take an eternity anymore. I honestly didn't think I would get this slow and worn down (mostly thanks to bad ligament pains)...I've always been so busy and active throughout this whole pregnancy but I definitely need to slow down now. Oh well...the light is at the end of the tunnel now. It won't be long!!!!
We are about 95% prepared. The blinds arrived last night so they will be installed tonight, the car seat bases are in the cars but we need to make a run to the police station to get them inspected, and I need to pack that hospital bag yet. I have everything else done! : )
1. Each big item (furniture, bedding, diapers) was exciting to pick/buy at the time, but I don't know if I can choose one as the list-topper. At this point I'm most excited about two "purchases" this week: a day at the Hershey spa/pool/fitness center on Friday with hubby (one last extravagant date for the two of us) and my maternity portraits this Sunday!
2. Feeling great. But kind of surreal. Everyone keeps commenting on how I must be so ready to be done being pregnant, but honestly, the impending and unavoidable alternative -- a real baby -- is suddenly soooo much more intimidating. I feel like I'm kicking @ss at this pregnancy thing, so the longer it lasts is OK by me.
But considering baby boy is now full-term, I've got to come to grips with the new reality that will beset us in what could be days.
1. We've only purchased a new crib for the baby so far. We decided long ago that each baby would have her own convertible crib to grow with her throughout the years. Just last night we moved Nina into our old room, which is a much larger room for her. The designated nursery is empty now, just waiting for us to put the crib together and buy the rest of the furniture. We did white furniture for Nina and are doing cherry furniture for the new baby.
2. I feel fine. I'm at 30 weeks today, so I've been getting progressively more and more uncomfortable, but that's expected. I have a very active baby this time around, which leaves me feeling "weird" to some extent at times! Keeping up with a 2 year old and being pregnant isn't the easiest thing to do either, but the DH helps out and I just keep doing what I have to do. I passed my glucose test a few weeks ago and now I'm down to doctor visits every two weeks! Yikes!
I'm the next one on the list - eek!
1. I think our bedding was the most exciting. We loved it and got it the same day as we bought our crib (had to wait wait a few days for crib delivery) but being able to put that together and all the decorations that came with it really made the nursery come together. I also love the stroller - only because I came home one day and it was in a different spot than it had been so I asked DH if he moved it. Apparently he'd been pushing it around the house while he was talking on the phone (he has an earpiece phone and works from home lol). I just thought that was very sweet.
2. I updated below but I am progressing. 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. If I don't go into labor first, I am getting induced next Friday morning so it won't be long now!
DH & I did spa day a few weeks ago. Have fun! It was awesome.
I also totally agree with the whole surreal thing. Although I've been on bedrest, I don't have any big complaints (i've been a little uncomfortable the past few days as there is no room in there for him anymore and my stomach feels like it's going to explode from being so hard). Knowing that I have 10 or 11 days at most of being just us and not being a mom yet is just scary! lol DH is totally ready and raring to go so I guess we're balancing each other!
Wow, first congrats to everyone who is so close to meeting their LO's! I honestly can't believe how fast your pregnancies have gone, which makes me realize that one of these days I'll be thinking the same thing as you girls.
1. So far, our most exciting purchase has been the bedding, which actually my friend just picked up for me today from PBkids since it is over an hour away and she lives there. We found the organic stork pattern 50% off Sunday and I love it. I'm not 100% sure we'll keep it, although it could work for both a boy or girl. Once we find out what we're having in two weeks, I'll decide. I defintely love it for a boy, but I'm not sure if I want something more girly if we have a girl. Thanks for all of your input and advice earlier this week
I'm really looking forward to all of the bigger purchases that are to come!
2. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good. I feel like I wake up every day and my stomach is bigger! I will admit that I'm enjoying all of the comments when I'm out now that I have a cute pregnancy bump. I sure that will change as I waddle my way into December! I am having a lot of joint/ligament pain I think and am not sleeping well since it drives me nuts not to be on my stomach. Other than that, we're just looking forward to our next appt July 7th- then we'll schedule the big ultrasound for the following week!
1) If this is a girl, buying all the girl clothes. If its a boy, we wont be buying much this time around!
2) I'm feeling generally ok, tired and run down from doing a lot of travelling but nothing to really complain about.
1) What is/was/will be your most exciting baby purchase? We probably won't be making too many purchases this time around since we're having another girl. However, I love my BOB stroller so I'm hoping to get the Duallie before the arrival of #2!!
2) Updates? IT'S A GIRL!!!! How are you feeling? Tired!! I thought the fatigue would have gotten better by now, but chasing after a toddler all day while pregnant is hard work! Other than that I've been feeling pretty good :-)
