I'm starting to fear

4 month wakeful! I'm a teacher and that's when I have to head back to work. I can just see the completely sleep deprived, scarier looking me stumbling into school the first day and at open house  i have never heard anything about this until the Bump. Needless to say, ya'll have me scared!

    I am a teacher as well and my dd was about 4 months when I headed back to work to finish the end of the year.  I was fearing the 4 month wakeful as well, but my dd never seemed to go through it.  Maybe you will have the same luck!  If not, it will pass--hang in there!

    I wouldn't worry about it too much.. if it happens it happens, and you will get through it, just buy lots of coffee.. if it doesn't happen then awesome!

    FWIW, my 4 month wakeful was not as bad as some people say.  She would just wake up once a night, so dh and I would just take turns, so we were guaranteed at least every other night a good night sleep.
