induced at 40w, 5 days, I was barely if NOT EVEN fingertip?dilated?and I think she was just being nice saying that lol.
?Happily, my water broke on it's own and the baby never had any distress, she was 8 pounds and I did need a vacum assist after 4 hours of pushing which I contribute to the epidural, I could not feel myself pushing AT ALL, it felt like I did nothing. I think my body took to the induction so well due to the fact I was so far along.
If I havent gone into labor by Thursday they are going to induce me, the doctor warned me that when your cervix is closed as mine still is induction wont always work... I think he was just trying to prepare me for the possibility of this ending in a c section.
We also discussed that we will ease off the epidural before I start pushing so that I will be able to feel whats going on. we're hoping my water breaks first so we'll see.... they said the baby is healthy so waiting another week is OK, Ijust have to go for a follow up again on Tuesday
I was induced due to PIH three times with no dialation-three different children. First time they used the Foley catheter and the other times it was cervadil and Pitocin. Both worked well although the Foley cathether was quicker to dialate the cervix.
My labor was 12hrs, 6 hrs, 5 hrs and not terribly bad.
I am 0cm and will be induced on Tuesday with Cytotech, and then maybe Pitocin if needed. I am prepared for a c-section because I know inductions don't always work. Also, I'm 80% effaced and 0 station, which are both promising...my OB told me that you have to consider all 3 things, not just on dilation, which most women tend to focus on.

My OB is waiting to induce me until I start to dilate. I am soft and not effaced. If I don't start to dilate on my own she is going to use the Foley.
Did using the catheter hurt?
