We are going to wait until she starts telling us she's ready. Our pediatrician said at her 4mo. appt last week that she is growing just fine and there's really no need to start talking about solids until her 6 mo. appointment, but if I want to start for some reason to give him a call and talk about it.
I may be mistaken but I thought I had heard/read that you should start solids no later than 6 months??
Yeah, this was my understanding (based on my reading) as well. Have you talked to your pedi about starting later than 6 months? I'm also curious your reasoning behind this?

I read in Parenting that some moms are actually going a whole year exclusively bf'ing. I guess as long as the baby is growing fine, they get all the nutrition they need from us. I don't think I would go more than 7 months though.
I was under the impression that waiting past 6 months posed a risk for baby rejecting food when you decide to start.
Also, JAR had some information that waiting past 6 months posed a risk for diabetes.
to be honest, i haven't done much research on it. just an article i've read and a friend of mine waited until 7 months. i think they suggest waiting a little longer if your lo is allergy prone.
