Trying to find kitty a home

In one of the locations for my company, the office staff adopted a stray cat.  They took up a collection and had him fixed.  He's a little sweetheart.  Smalle orange, very soft.  I brought my baby to see him and he was very sweet while she touched his fur.

The problem is, an employee is allergic.  He's taking medication and using an inhaler but it is now aggravating other health conditions.  We simply can't continue to have this cat on the premises - it's a health issue.

We can't take this cat to a shelter to be euthanized - just can't do it.  The no kill shelters I have contacted are of course, totally full.  I would be so tempted to take this sweet kitty home with me myself, but my husband is allergic.  We adopted a rescue dog and HATE to put another pet in a shelter, but this is becoming urgent because of our employee's health and I am desperate to find this cat a home.

Anyone?

  • How about taking him to the vet that you take Molson to?  If he's good-natured, chances are someone might adopt him; orange cats are pretty popular most of the time.  Poor guy!  We'd step up, but we've reached our quota of male orange cats at the moment. :)  GL!

I'd love to help you out, but we are at capacity here in my house with 3 cats and 2 dogs...all rescues.  I even have rescue fish.  Hope you are successful in placing him.
  • What a sweet thing you're doing Jan! I really wish we could take him but our zoo is full at the moment.  Have you tried calling Good Mews on Johnson Ferry?  Or what about going to Petsmart on Adoption Day.  I'm pretty sure people drop off stray cats to some of the shelters that are there.  At least they did when we adopted our last cat 2 years ago.
  • Good Mews is full but will post a flyer.  Dr Good (where we take Molson) I haven't heard back from yet.  I expect that their shelter will be full too.  I HATE to send another pet to a shelter.  It makes me sad.  But I have to look out for the health of our employee.
