I was getting enfamil and similac formula checks for only two months....now I get nothing! It's so odd to me. Do they only give one or two per child? I was thinking I'd get them monthly. Anyone know how many they usually send?
They're used as a promotional tool to get people to try their formula and begin buying it. Formula checks arent sent out monthly so that you can get free or discounted formula for the first year.
I got them up to 6 months (Good Start). I emailed the company, they said after 6 months no more checks - just coupons for Gerber food (at least from Good Start!).
I tried to explain that babies are on formula for up to a year and those checks really help - esp in this economy. They said "Sorry, here's a Gerber food coupon" LOL!
OK thanks guys! I just thought it was odd I only got two. The first one was $5 and the second one was $2. The only reason I ask is because people here talk about them all the time and I was thinking maybe mine were getting stollen out of the mail...or I somehow got removed from a mailing list.
Now my baby is older so I guess I shouldn't be expecting any.
Just as an FYI, I called to ask (Similac) about my checks. I explained to them how much I missed them because we had to try about 7 different formulas due to lactose intolerance (yes, it took a while to figure out what the dealio was). Anyway, I answered this questionaire for them, they mailed to me (I received 3 days later) 4 $4 checks, 4 $3 off coupons and 4 $1 off coupons. It was awesome. Then, I made a baby up under my moms name and she got the "starter package" too. I should feel badly about doing that second thing, but I spent over $300 on formula we cannot use and I was desperate!
Enfamil sends me checks, but Similac doesnt, and thats the brand that DS uses. With Similac I had to sign and send a waiver because I live in Cali, and then they said I would recieve checks. LIARS. I have yet to recieve anything from them ;0(

I'm in California too, but I get similac checks. What is the waiver for? Granted, after the baby is 6+ months, they are giving me $3 checks now.
Re: Why don't I get formula checks anymore?
The checks are a marketing ploy to get you to brand onto their formula. Once you are on their brand, then you are most likely hooked to their brand.
This is why name brand formulas cost more than generic, even though Formula is THE MOST GOVERNMENTALLY REGULATED PRODUCT ON THE MARKET.

i still get them sporadically. I actually get them for all 3. I keep the Good Start. Send the similac to my labor buddy in TX and I trade the Enfamil.
I actually just got a GS 2 coupon and Similac coupon yesterday in the mail.

I haven't gotten any in over a month.
I don't use them though- just sell them on ebay or give them to friends. HAHA formula companies I've made money off you!
They are certainly a marketing ploy.
And I didn't even sign myself up, but apparently other companies have sold my name.
Oh alex, I'm in ca too so maybe that's why I don't get similac.
Where did you get the elmo pic taken??
