What do you think of Adelia?

I've posted a few times in the last month re: names that Addy can be short for b/c we love it. Addison has become quite popular (imo) and Adelyn, while very cute, is reminiscent of my MIL (Lynn - don't want to go there). Adelaide rhymes with our last name and I don't like them together.

Adelia isn't one I've heard much. I didn't love it when my mom first said it but it's growing on me plus I think it gives her the option of being Addy, Delia, or Lia which are all cute.

I am not a huge fan of Adelia. I like Delia and I like Adelle though. Have you considered Adeline?

It's okay. I like Adelle, Adelina and Adelinda better. Adelind is still in the running for us. It is the German/Scandinavian spelling and pronounciation.

Have you considered Adalie? I think it's a very pretty name. And you could use Addy or Addie (whichever spelling you prefer) as a n/n.

How exactly do you say Adelia? We, too, like the nn Addy but don't want to use Addison, Adelyn or Adeline. My husband is stuck on the name Adelie. We've gotten mixed reviews on the name and told to go with something more common. Good Luck!

I've never seen/heard Adelie - would that be: Add-a-lee? Kind of rhymes with Natalie?

A-Dell is how Adelle is pronounced, as far as I know! I like all of the names. I have been thinking about using Adelle or some of the names listed.

Well, be prepared you just may not ever call your baby by her nickname. Sometimes it just doesn't work out like that. I swore I'd call Alaina 'Lanie' or 'Laina' for short but I never do. It's always her full name or The Bug

Also, Adelia reminds me of a cable company over in MA when I lived there called Aldelphia.

Adelphia. Yes. That's what it makes me think of.

I have never heard this as a name, and I would have pronounced it A-dell-ee-ah. I like Adeline, and I do like Addy--if you want to call her that, just name her that! Very pretty.
