Just Realized Initials Spell W.H.O.!!!

I cannot believe it.  We have had our boy name picked out forever! "William" after my two grandfathers, brother and uncle, and "Harry" after DH grandfather.  Last name, needless to say, begins with O.  I almost missed it!  But it came to me when I was driving home that the initials spell "Who".

DH says, who cares.  (No pun intended.)  I think we may need to go back to the drawing board.  I thought we could use William still (nn-Liam) and just pick out a new middle name.  Maybe use my DH first name as the baby's middle name but so far it is a no go with DH.  There are no other family names we want to use. So it seems like it has to be two random names.

What would you do? and what do you suggest for names?

W.H.O is totally fine.  Seriously.  You'll regret not using a name you love over such a thing.

WHO as a monogram isn't so bad!  My sister who's last name begins with a "W" wanted to name her third child Jack Edward.  I had to point out that the kid's initials would spell JEW.  She opted for Nicholas instead.  So she ended up with a "NEW" baby instead.

    I think you're overreacting..W.H.O.?  Big deal.

My dad's initials are F.O.G. and my MIL's are S.A.D.  No one cares or ever says anything.

WHO - no big deal.  Not really sure what's wrong with JEW either.

Mine is ABC.  My brother's is DIC.  Nobody cares.

If it spelled something bad like HAG I'd reconsider, but WHO is fine.?

I wouldn't worry about it.  WHO is fine!  I really like William Henry.

I'd keep the name.  My initials were originally JAG, and my husband's MLF. (heehee)

WHO isn't so bad. If you decide to switch, maybe your H's grandpa's middle name would work?

go with the name. It is great! With my maiden name, my initials were M.E.S. , and so were my sisters.  It isn't like people were walking around calling us "messes".

I don't think it's a big deal, but if it bothers you, maybe just pick a different middle name. I like William.

no problem. Like a pp said, its not a dirty word or anything.

I think the initials WHO fall more under the heading of, "Hey guys, it's so cool, my initials spell who!" rather than "HAHA, your intitials spell A$$"

I heard it's good luck to have initials that spell something! An old wives' tale, I know, but I don't think WHO is a bad thing at all.

My initials were HEL until I changed my name when I got married. At least you've thought this through! Big Smile

WHO is not a set of initials I'd reinvent the wheel over.

I always thought it was neat to have initials that spell a word. I was SEL, and now I'm SEA. Didn't bother me at all, and WHO isn't bad. I say keep the name.

Those initials are fine.  Honor the family members. It seems silly to toss out the names you love over this.  Only if they spelled something like T.I.T. I would agree with you.

How often do you sign things using your initial anyways??   The occasional contract is about it.

If you are worried about monograms, keep in mind that it will be wOh.   The inital of the last name goes in the middle.

That's okay...ours if it's a boy will be T.V.  Which makes me laugh because my DH is obsessed with TV...oh well initials aren't that big of a deal.

I actually think that's cute for initials! As long as it doesn't spell one of the many things I'd list here (but it would get censored!), it doesn't matter.

W.H.O. is fine, just avoid the monograms. If it makes you feel any better, when I married DH, my initials became A.S.S. and NO ONE has ever said anything to me!

My husband's initials are...ready for it?...F.A.G. No joke! Can you imagine being in junior high with those initials?? It is wise to think of what the initials may spell. Thank God it looks like my #2 is also going to be a girl--we won't have to disappoint the MIL by not using my husband's horribly-initialed name!!!
