I typically deal with stupid people with heavy doses of sarcasm, but for some reason I haven't been able to come up with a good response to the following conversation that I've had so very frequently lately:
person: "When are you due?"
me: "july 12"
person: "oh, that's cute that you think the baby will come on your due date. You know you could go over right? July 12 is just a date" (or some variation of treating me like a moron for "expecting" my child on my due date which I don't)
Sorry, I'm just getting really frustrated with this and am looking for some smarta$$ response to throw out there when it happens.
Re: Anyone have a good sarcastic response for me to use?
I have been looking at people like they are so dang rude and saying, "why would you think I am pregnant??"
Then, walk away....hahahah
I would just remind them that they asked what your due date was and that you are not a psychic. I know it isn't a zing.
Or you could just tell them to f*ck off. I secertly hope you choose this one.
um how about telling them you didn't say it would actually COME that day..they asked for the due date and you gave it to them!
not sure why people are responding that way since they asked.....weird!
This. ?I've never had anyone respond like that before when asking when my due date is. ?Very strange.?
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
hmmm I have tonnes of good responses but most of them tend to get me benched according to some sort of obscure TOS that is invisible to the human eye.
When people are asking me when I'm due - I tend to ask them....
"Do you have a catcher's mitt handy?"
"How are you with boiling water and fetching towels?"
That usually scares them into silence.?
I like this one, it actually relates to the question you asked specifically. Good luck with whatever you choose!
Yeah this is what I'm wondering too... Why do people say such weird things to pregnant women??
