I'm having a hard time deciding on a crib mattress - either a "regular" one with an organic mattress topper or Naturepedic Organic Cotton Classic ($278)
What mattress did you chose? Do you think paying more for an organic one is worth the price?
We're using a used crib and mattress from my nephew but I am planning on getting organic sheets- I figure it's what will be actually touching the baby.

We are debating b/w the Naturepedic which we found for $199 or the LA Baby "organic" from Costco for $130 (will be a extra $20 off next week). We are leaning torwards the Naturepedic, b/c the LA Baby one is not actually very organic.
We got the LA Baby Organic from Costco. Only $130.
I know I'm still in 2nd Tri, but it was posted on our board the other day that this mattress will be $20 off starting July 6th (I think that's the date!).

Is this available on Costco.com or only in-store?
We went to our Costco, and they didn't carry it at our store. We'll get it online. I'm not sure about other Costcos though.
totally butting in where i don't belong, i know but YES it is worth it. plastic mattresses off gas hormone disrupting chemicals that science is only know starting to understand....please go organic. it has nothing to do with touching the baby so organic sheets won't solve the problem, it is the fumes that you may not even smell that are the problem.
There is no way I would spend $300 on a mattress. Just my opinion. We got DS a mattress that was $50 and recommended by a few people. We made sure it was a firm one. Organic and non-organic didn't bother me here because I put a waterproof cover on it as soon as we got it home and the sheet went over that. My son probably hasn't seen the actual mattress itself before And ours didn't stink or anything at all. GL!
We got the Serta from BRU for 189 or so--it is filled with organic fill. I am not sure if it's as organic as the ones that are much more money but covered with organic sheets and a mattress cover, it'll do.
