1st Trimester

Not showing yet...13 weeks

I am 13 weeks today...I am not showing. I have a bit of muffin top going on, I don't button the top button on most of my clothes. I have no real bump. I look at pics of others on here who have a real baby bump/ look pregnant at 11 weeks and up. I got the bloat around 6wks - 8wks. I have been feeling sickly and puky, I had lost 6 pounds at my 9wk appt.

I feel like a freak, I want a baby bump. I know everyone is different but I feel behind. Hopefully I am not the only one, how is your bump?

I'm just the same as you. I have no bump and have not gained any weight, even though I feel like my pants don't fit as well...

  • I am getting the muffin top right now, too. But don't feel bad, maybe some of the women you are seeing pictures of are on their second child - they say you show earlier with your second.

Try not to worry, I am sure you will "pop" soon!

  • Same boat as you, but quite honestly, i'm not eager for the bump quite yet since i'm waiting to tell my boss/coworkers in about 2-3 weeks.  Plus, i don't want to buy maternity clothes yet!!!!

  • I didn't really start showing with my first till 20 weeks and even then I it was barely there. I still fit into my normal jeans 7 days before she was born so I know how you feel. I wanted the bump so bad but I didn't really get one that was obvious till my 7th month on the plus side I never got one stretch mark and it was an easy delivery.
  • Don't worry...it will come.  I went right from bloat to a bump...although on meds for IVF so part of it is still related to that I think.  It is really hard to keep it a secret though now.  People at work keep looking at my belly and asking me how I am feeling...seriously.
  • Not to worry, it will come out of nowhere. Pretty soon, you won't be able to touch your toes, your maternity clothes will be a source of frustration, and you will want nothing more than to slip into your pp jeans just for one day.

Its a frustrating wait, I know, but enjoy your smaller size while you can.

  • You can see my belly album (link in siggy).  I didn't have a bump then either.

  • Don't worry...you'll be showing soon enough.  At week 40 you'll be posting about how much you just want your baby out!  LOL...

I never thought less stretch marks - maybe it is a plus.

I have already told everyone at work, so I am not afraid showing. I feel like everyone I know had a definite "pregnant" look to them by now.

My mom says I am going to just wake up one morning and have a big belly. Only time will tell. This is my first, guess it takes a while longer to show.

    Thanks!

  • so i am 22 wks and not showing.  So your time will come.  Just hang in there.

I had more of a belly at 8 weeks than I do now.  I think it's normal, but I do know what you mean.  My ass, boobs and hips seem to have managed to make up for my slacker belly Angry

  • I didnt show with my first pregnancy until I was about 21 weeks.  And I wasn't overweight or anything (which would hide it a little)...I'm 5'6" and at the time was about 130 lbs.  I'm kind of glad now that it took so long...as much as I wanted to look pregnant at the time!!

And the pp is right...it could be people pregnant the second time around.  I never bloated the first time, and now I have this food belly all the time  :)

  • I have a friend that is 21w with #2 and she has had a tiny little baby bump for a couple weeks now.  She was even smaller with her first.  She swears she was showing by 18w with both, but I dont' think she had much of a bump either time at 18w.

I know someone else who is 14w with her first and she is MUCH larger than my friend with #2 is right now at 20w.  I look EXACTLY as I did before I was pregnant.  I can't wait to look pregnant either, but I know there will come a point when I can't wait to look like I did pre-pregnancy.

My point?  Everyone is very different.  Be patient and happy with how things are for you.

  • I didn't start showing with my first pg until I was about 16-ish weeks. This time I'm already showing. You'll get there, no worries :-)
  • don't worry! you have many long months ahead where you'll sport the baby bump...be thankful you still fit in normal clothes and appreciate it while you can. with #1 I didn't pop until 23 weeks...just the chubby muffin top....and no bump yet this time...but I'm fine with it, knowing what's coming (and how much I hate maternity clothes:)

    This...you'll get there, LOL

  • With DD, I didn't even remotely show until about 15 weeks. Don't worry, you'll have your baby belly soon!

  • Most women don't typically start showing (other people notice) until around 18-20 weeks with their first. I thought I would start showing alot sooner but I soon found out it doesn't really happen until later on for most women. You have a few weeks to go but don't worry you'll soon be huge and wishing you're back didn't hurt!
  • I feel your pain. I look fat - NOT pregnant. Nothing fits, but I'm not 'big enough' to wear maternity clothes yet. The inbetween stage stinks, eh? Give it time, in a few weeks you'll be sportin the bump!
