I had my 38 week aptm today and they are still going to induce tomorrow.. Im just really nervous because im not dilated, but he said the head was lower and i was softer than last time.. Anybody else been through this? If so how long were you in labor and everything..
Re: Had my dr. aptm today..
This
probably don't want to hear from me b/c I was induced with DD and I went in on a Friday morning at 6am and did not have her until Sunday at 8:30pm.
I told my current Dr. that unless there was a serious medical issue, I am under no circumstances to be induced. I feel like my baby would have come when she was ready and I read that there is a window where pitocin works and if you miss it/or do it too early, then you have a high risk for c-section and/or long, drawn-out labor.
Here's the deal though: I was in the military when I had DD and if you have heard about medical care in the military, well...it's not that good. Plus, I was in England and had no family around for support or advice.
My doctor now would never allow such a long induction. She told me today that everything is my decision and I told her that I want to wait and see if my baby comes one more week. Obviously, if she doesn't come by my next appt then we will have to discuss other options.
Good Luck sweetie, I am sure that you will not have such problems as I did but, that is what happened to me.
why are you being induced?
Heather, don't be nervous, you will feel pain once the contractions start to kick in, just like everybody else - there's no way to predict the amount of pain or how long you are going to labor, we all just hope it's going to be fast. Try to relax in between contractions and find something to distract yourself. Focus on the final product and come back with pictures.
Every person and every labor is different. Hard to answer that question, but good luck!
The swelling and the headaches started at 35 weeks.. as did the BP.. but then at 36 weeks my blood platelets started to drop, then they went back up.. It has just been a rollercoaster ride since 35 weeks.
