I give an inch and my cat wants a mile

in 2nd Trimester

I've been letting her go outside on the deck when I am out in the backyard with the dogs because she can't get over our fence.  Well yesterday she decided to make her way into the backyard and lay down...I was fine with that.

Now she is HOWLING at the backdoor because she thinks she should be allowed to go outside whenever she wants.  She has been an indoor cat for 6 years and doesn't have her front claws so there is no way I am letting her out alone.

I think this is giving me a good lesson in parenting.

    I have two cats, and they do the EXACT same thing.  We just moved from a house with a screened in porch overlooking the lake.  They are seriously depressed that they can't hang out there all day.  When I do take them out (very supervised), they act like they've never seen daylight.  They are so dramatic!!

    My cats sit at the door and yowl to go out to the porch (it's screened, so they're safe), and then five minutes after they go out, they yowl to come back in. Cats are like that. My mom told me that she thinks my cats are more difficult than children, because at least with children there is a hope that someday you will be able to reason with them and use logic. The cats? No way.

    Now she's sitting on the coffee table (which she knows is a no no) looking at me like I'm the most evil person in the world.  I am so glad I'm having a boy.  I don't need another drama queen in the house!

    LOL! This was me 3 minutes ago!! My boy Parsley is only allowed on the deck, but as soon as he hears that sliding glass door open, he makes a run for his spot in the shade, under the grill. I had to actually go down to the ground on the grass and poke him through the slats to get him to go inside since I can't reach where he lays.
