new house!

just when i get frustrated our luck turns around!

granted this is all pending a home inspection and a SIGNED acceptance rather than just a verbal, but...we may have a house. the commute stinks...like 45 minute to an hour instead of the half hour i have now and a longer train ride for DH, but the house is bigger, prettier and has 1/4 acre of wetland conservation in the back! the nighborhood is awesome - farms all around one direction and go down the street 1/2 a mile and multimillion dollar homes the other way. we are buying the cheap house in the neighborhood! has all hardwood execpt the basement playroom, a fireplace, a mini orchard (in need of serous pruning and cleaning but we can do that....4 apple trees, 2 peach trees and a plum tree!), 3 good sized bedrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen, an actual dining room, 3 heat zones (bedroom, living area, playroom) and 2 year old roof, brand new oil tank, and 1 year old heating system AND a garage!!

crazy - thank you to everyone who sympathasized and kept me cheerful when the last one fell through. this one is much nicer, though the commute sucks, it will be better in the long run....and all the more motivation to TTC #2 this summer so i can stay home Wink plus the basement playroom is big enough that i can totally work on getting certified for an in home childcare which has been a dream of mine for awhile.

keep all appendages crossed that this house is the one!

Re: new house!

  • That is so cool!!  I hope everything falls into place and you get it!!  (DH has a long commute since we bought our house, too, but it's worth it, we think ;) )

  • where in the world did you find such a gem?! that is great! i'll keep my fingers crossed for you definitely.
  • woohoo!  i'll be over in 26 mins to play with your fruit trees.  :-D

really though - what does dh do?  is it something he could eventually try to move closer to home?  when i first moved to haverhill i was still working in boston and taking the commuter rail in.  it was no fun but i did it for a few months until i found a job closer to where i lived..

but i hope it all works out for you - it sounds AWESOME!!  i don't know much about dracut - just drove through once like i said and since i drove through it and wound up in lowell it def seemed a heck of a lot nicer once i got to lowell!!!  Tongue Tied  lol.  you'll have to keep us posted!!!!

p.s. hey how come you're not at work???

  • he works in computers so yeah it's possible he could find something closer...or something where he could telecommute for a couple days a week.

i am not at work because the dog is sick and does not have total control over his bowels. DH was home with him yesterday and i am today and hopefully he is on the tail end of this. he's on antibiotics so hopefully the out of control doggie diarrhea is almost done. so far so good this AM but it is still early...

  • Hurray!! It sounds wonderful! :)

  • ewww..  poor pupper!!  and you!!  lol.  oooh - can pupper wear jack's diapers??  hehehehe..

burlington is pretty tech heavy to my understanding and that'd be right down rt 3.. theoretically a half hour commute though likely more with traffic..  still not too bad though?  and you'd probably be about the same distance to nashua NH too - there are always options!  :-)

  • I was going to suggest Burlington, too. It seems like tech firm after tech firm as you drive through on 95 - at least to me!
