so we have never bought any different nipples than what came with our bottles. If you have a 6 month or older, did you buy a different nipple - faster flow or something? DS doesn't seem concerned but I am thinking we must need a faster flow by now right? I feel like such a dork.
Re: really dumb question re nipples
We moved up to 2 at 4 months I think and then 3s (though we'll use 2s still) at 6.
He cannot drink out of 1s. It takes FOREVER.
it also depends which bottles you use... my avent 4 ounce bottles came with #1 nipples and the 9 ounce bottles came with #2 nipples. is it possible you have already switched and didn't realize it?
there is no reason you have to switch, but your LO could certainly handle faster flow by now.

ds will only take that weird adiri bottle. i tried the second stage bottle with a faster flow, he hates it and chokes. i think he's a 'slow' eater anyway. i'm just happy he will take a bottle!
like pp said, i think you 'can' but you don't 'have' to
are you BFing/Pumping? then No - stay with the slow flow nipples.
Not sure about FF though
Andrew still uses the slow flow nipples so it doesn't interfere with our BFing.
