Amniotic fluid or discharge or urine?

I was walking to my car tonight after work and felt some wetness (sorry if tmi) and when I got home I looked at my underwear and had a huge wet spot that looked thin, kind of watery.  I called the on call doctor for fear of leaking amniotic fluid and he said to wear a pad and see if it soaks through.  I haven't noticed much fluid since, but now I'm still concerned.  About a half hour before I noticed the liquid I had urinated, so I thought maybe it was some left over urine?  Does anyone have any insight into experiencing this?

    If your soaking your pad then its AF.. if not then its discharge/urine

    I've had some discharge and just overall dampness, especially after urinating. Any time I have asked, my doc has said it's normal, but if it's heavy flow to let them know.

    It could have been a gush of CM... It happens occasionally to me.

    I've heard that amniotic fluid smells like semen, anyone with more experience with amniotic fluid  can give that a yay or nay.

    amniotic fluid is supposed to have more of a sweet smell, i've heard.  the dr. broke my water for me, so i don't really know.  i didn't get down there and sniff around.

    amniotic fluid has a sweeter smell, I walked around for a whole day with my water leaking with my 1st pregnancy so I know, urine would have a sour, amonia type smell. I am very dischargy this time too especially after urinating. If it's continuous goes in just to be sure, all they do is a swab in the vagina and if it's AF then it will turn a different color.

    From what I hear, if it's continuously leaking then it's AF. It'll soak through the liner as your dr. said.

    A test that I saw in the book is to try and hold it in (like if you were trying to hold in pee) and if it doesn't stop its AF.

    to me, this sounds like discharge.  Do you sit at work? Sometimes if I have been sitting for a while, then walk around I experience what sound similar to this. Keep an eye on it, and you did the right thing by calling your doc...better to be a little paranoid right?
