United Health and Life Insurance

Anyone have experience with this company? TIA

Re: United Health and Life Insurance

  • We used to have United Health Insurance under my dad's company when I lived at home.  I wasn't terribly involved in the details of it but it always seemed to be pretty good and I think my parents were always pretty happy with it.

  • I had them with my first. It was fine.  However the 2k deductable sucked.  That was almost half my entire hospital bill!
  • I have them now and so far not to bad!
  • I have no experience with the life insurance, but they are my health insurance company and I find them to be the most incompetent piece of crap company ever.  Given a choice, I would never ever ever ever ever choose this company.  I have had other health insurance companies and never dealt with the issues I am dealing with now.  And it has nothing to do with the plan I have.  The specific plan isn't the greatest, but that's DH's company's choice.  It's their customer service that is awful.  EVERY TIME I call to ask a question (and for the amount that we pay each month, I have every right to call and ask and understand my plan!) I get a major run around.  No one knows anything.  I can call 5 times and ask the same question and get a different answer every time.  I have had to get nasty with people on the phone multiple times.  This company is the biggest headache I have ever had!  There phoen system is awful too.  I spend 20 minutes listening to messages and pressing buttons befor eI can ever get a real person.  Their website is okay and somewhat informative, but no option to e-mail questions, which was a major perk with my last company.  I often sent an e-mail with a question and always got an answer (and the correct one, go figure!) within 48 hours.  Ugh to United Health!
