I didn't start CD my DD until she was about a year old to battle diaper rash (it worked wonders), so I only have diapers that work on a crazy toddler I would like to start stocking up on CD for an infant in the future and didn't know what would work best! Right now I just have Happy Heiny's, GAD's, Bum Genious 3.0, and some diapers I ordered off of Etsy.
Thanks,
Re: Best diapers for a newborn
Well, I haven't CD'd a newborn yet either, but if/when I do I will definitely do some prefolds and maybe some kissaluv fitteds with covers for when we're at home and some xs HH or BG for going out.
I'm so glad I started CDing though because now for a future baby I'll be an old pro and using them from the begining wont be such an overwhelming thought.
Good luck!

We are loooving KL0s! They are super easy and fit well. We do put DD in sposies at night, though, because the KL0s don't wick wetness away from her skin. We also have prefolds that we are just now starting to use (they were too big. They were a gift, so I don't know what size the are). So far, I like the absorbancy. It takes a little more skill, but isn't too hard. We have XS Thirsties and newborn BG covers. I like the BG, especially when she was first born, but she's almost outgrown them. The thirsties are also good, but were huge on her at first. We've only had one leak with an (old) thirsties AIO.
BTW, I got the KL0 rental from Nell's. It makes it pretty inexpensive to have a newborn stash.
