what kind of diaper pail did you register for?

I've been trying to do some research on the best diaper pail to get. I'm leaning towards the Diaper Champ since it takes regular grocery bags and most seem to say it keeps the odor in. I don't want one where I'm gonna have to buy special bags. I need to cut corners anywhere I can! so...which one did you register for?

We didn't register for one. I've heard from friends with babies that they are kinda a waste of money...I don't know?

I regsitered for the diaper champ and then took it off after a ca few people I know said it wastn worth it. DH says we will just wrap them up and take em out after changing.

We didn't get a special diaper pail. We are using a simple Sterilite Touch Top waste basket that we bought at Target for about $20. I don't know if it's because DD is breastfed or what, but even when the pail is FULL of diapers, it does not smell. And we are able to use regular trash bags with it. Just something to think about if you are trying to save money.

Of course, I may change my tune once she starts solids...

That's what I think...I don't like the thought of poopy diapers sitting in the nursery, lol.?

my sister recommended the Diaper Dekor. It's really more just a garbage can, you step on the thing to open it so it's easy and hands free. That's the one I'm planning to get.

Just a regular garbage can like a simple human one that we can step on to open. Friends say the diaper champ is odor free until you have to change the bag, then it stinks big time. I'd rather just empty a regular pail often.

I registered for a Diaper Champ. At my shower, I received 2 Diaper Champs (thanks BRU) and a Diaper Genie II Elite. After talking with several moms at the shower, I decided to keep the Diaper Genie. Originally I was going for DC since it didn't need extra bags. However, a friend told me she has only had to buy maybe 3 refills in the 17 months her son has been dirtying diapers and the refills are only ~$6. I figured that wasn't a huge expense and if I want to cut corners, there are other places I can do that!
