tailbone pain

I have this sharp pain in my back and was wondering if this is common with any of you all? I am only 21 weeks pregnant and thought it might be too early for back pain.

Re: tailbone pain

  • I'm not sure if it's the same thing you're experiencing, but if I've been sitting down for a long time at my chair at work, my tailbone really hurts when I finally stand up.  It's just my tailbone though, different from my lower back aches.  It start around 18 wks and it never happened before I was pregnant.  It usually fades after I've been standing or walking for 5-10 minutes.

  • I had tailbone pain a few weeks ago, and still do when I sit too long, or stand too long.  However, it seems to have moved to more of my left lower pelvic region and seems to be nerves.  So I am not much help but to tell you that I've got that...

  • I have tailbone pain, but I wouldn't say mine is sharp - it's more of an aching pain that radiates up through my lower back.
  • I have lots of tailbone pain, but its aching not sharp.  I finally realized I was tilting my hips forward and slouching down when I sat so I was sitting directly on my tailbone.  I've been more aware of it and trying to correct it and it seems to be helping.
  • I've got it too and found that the more I move around from sitting/standing positions the better it is.  I sway when I have to stand for long periods of time - that seems to help too.
