We're flying home this weekend for my brother's wedding. His fiance is from Russia and won't have any friends or family here for the wedding. She wasn't thrown a bridal shower. I really want to at least do the something old, new, borrowed, blue for her but am having a hard time figuring out what to get!
For the new: I'm getting her an anklet, that's what I got for mine and I still wear it all the time and it was hidden at the wedding
For the blue: panties, that way I won't have to worry about them clashing with her other colors as I have no idea what she's doing for jewelry, dress, etc.
For the old: my mom is bringing her a bracelet she's had since she was a teenager
For the borrowed: ???? I don't want to do more jewelry as she probably has some picked out already and I don't want to bombard her with bling Any ideas?
Re: NBR: Desperately need some suggestions (longish)
Something for her hair maybe? A little hairpin or comb or something... the hairpin can be small and therefore not really going to clash with anything that she has already.
Of course, if you don't have anything like this then maybe you can switch it all around or something.
If she is wearing a long dress, you could loan her something and she could pin it inside of her skirt -- a hanky or something small?
For my something blue my sister got me a really pretty asian looking pendent that was pinned to the inside of my dress. Could you do something like this for the borrowed?
I borrowed my cousins underskirt for my borrowed. Not exactly super meaningful, but practical nevertheless.
That's a great idea! I'll have to raid my jewelry box when I get home, hopefully I can find something that will work!
A hankie to carry? I was glad someone handed me one before I walked down the aisle. I didn't think I'd be a crier...
You could make sure to have a few things and see what she actually needs to borrow when it's time. I ended up borrowing my aunt's earrings. I had others, but they broke and hers ended up being prettier anyway.
This is what I was thinking.
That's really awesome of you to do something for her to make sure her day is special.
