If you know the exact car you want do you go to more then one dealership to get a price?  When I bought my Pilot in 03 all the dealerships gave me the exact same quote.  DH wants to go to a few dealerships and the thought of negotiating multiple times gives me a migraine.  DH has no idea how to negotiate so it is all on me.  Last night he actually gave one dealership his lowest $$ amount for his trade in instead of his high.

    We just bought a new car for DH in January and he actually get online quotes from the dealerships and then was able to to negotiate one against the other with email proof and we did very well on our trade in and new car:)

    that's why I love my dealership--the price is the price/no negotiating.  They are usually a few thou lower than any other dealer (Honda)

    DH is a big negotiatior.  He would go to many different places to get a price that he thought was reasonable, especially for a big purchase like a car.

    But he negotiates with everyone, even Wal-Mart. Lol

    We went to the carmaker website and requested quotes from all local dealerships and I also get quotes through the Costco auto program and compare. I don't physically go in to the dealerships anymore, thats just an awful experience. And we sell our cars private party since we always get more for them that way.
