Wilson being used as a girls (middle) name? My grandmother's MN is Wilson and I've never heard that before. I think it's different, but kind of neat. Does it seem too weird?? Def. not too common...
I wouldn't consider it a girls name, per se. ?But as with all family names it wouldn't be a crazy thing to use as a middle name. ?I think it would not be a cute first name for a girl. ?

Was it her mom's maiden name? It's common in my family to give the mom's maiden name as the first born child's middle name.
This - I'm sure this was either her mother's or grandmother's maiden name. If not, then a family name in another capacity.
I don't find this bizarre at all, it's been the practice in my family for generations.
