birth control pills

So I went off the pills in march, have been on them for about 10 years, and haven't had a period since I went off the pills.  I have taken a HPT every month since and all have been Neg.  I have an appt with the doc on Thursday.  However some one told me that they might put me back on the pill for a month to "jump start" my menstral cycle again.  

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

    You are doing the right thing by going to see your dr. They can give you something to give you a period. GL!

    I was told by my doc that 10 pills of provera were like the last ten pills of my birth control pills.  Maybe that is what that "someone" meant.  It will bring on your period.  My doc also said that it could make you O as well.

    The only time I've heard of someone TTC to be put back on the pill is if they needed to shrink large cysts on their ovaries.

    I've taken Provera twice with no side effects.  Good luck!

     I have never heard such a thing.  i  am so mad that i ever wasted my money on birth control pills... i havent been taking them for a while and i still havent gotten preggers

    hi....yea about the same thing here...went off BCP in feb... no  real AF since, went to dr. last week and she gave me a prescription for progesterone to get things going....2 days after the dr. appt (b4 i filled the prescription cuz we were waiting for b/w too)...AF started...let's hope O is coming soon..GL and I totally hear you
