No internals for me since I'm having a scheduled c/s. I'm kind of curious but certainly not curious enough to ask for an internal! LOL

I've had several but that's because I was having some pre-term contractions. Last time I was checked was 36 weeks and I was 1.5 cm dilated, not very effaced and super high up. I doubt I will get checked again since the contractions have died down- I'm having a scheduled c-section.

Jan! I can't believe how close you are! And that you'll be having an 07/08/09 baby=) My section is scheduled for the 13th, but I hope to have her on the 8th, too. Because I'm a nerd;) I had to have an internal done earlier in the month after having a night with over 20 BH within two hours. Turns out I was starting to dilate and efface AND I had a yeast infection. Fun. Things have calmed down since, thankfully=)

I have had 2 internals at this point...they are not that bad! or maby it's just that my dr is gentle, I dunno. I am a fingertip dialated so far.

at last internal (wednesday), i was 2 to 3 cm dialated. dr. scheduled induction for today due to high bp and swelling. can't wait!!!

Not yet. My dr does not do them unless I am showing signs of labor... which I'm not. He figures why be uncomfortable if you could be 1 cm for weeeks and get your hopes up? No complaints on my end.

I am due July 28th, 2009 & this will be my first! My name is Erin and i am 22!!! I had my first Internal last week.....NOTHING! My arm has been killing me and keeping me up all night....i keep hearing that its normal though to have some numbness in the hands...though i didn't know that the pain came along with that one!

I started having internals done at 36 weeks and at my last appt on Friday, I was 2 cm & a wiggle (yes my dr said "and a wiggle") dilated and 50% effaced. Unfortunately it doesn't really matter because we have a c-section scheduled for tomorrow morning!! We're so excited to see what our LO is - it's been fun being team green but we're so ready to see if we have a daughter or a son.

My name is Jenny, I am due on July 12th with a boy. This is my first and I am 25. at 36 weeks I was 1cm but I am not sure now, I have another appointment tomorrow but, they probably won't check.

My MW offered to do one today when they do my GBS test so I'm going to let her check just to see if all the cramping/contrax I've been having are actually causing any changes. This'll probably be the only one I'll do before 40 weeks, though. I'll update any progress (or lack thereof) afterwards!

I had an appt yesterday, and the nurse told me I'd probably have an internal, but I haven't. I was planning on opting out anyway, because I don't really see the point. I'm sure I'll have one at Tuesday's appt because that's the day before my due date!! My Dr. doesn't like to let anyone go too far past their EDD.

T: I had two done last Tuesday. My Dr was checking to see if my water had broken and she checked my progress. I'm currently sitting at 2-3 cm.

Yep, I've had a couple of internals. As of last Wednesday, there has been very little progress. I'm 50% effaced and no dilation. Boo! Maybe we'll have better news tomorrow. Music

I have had 3 internals so far- first at 36 weeks (1 cm, 50% effaced, baby at 0 station), second at 38 weeks for a false alarm hospital run (still 1 cm, 60% effaced, baby at 0 station), and third at 38 weeks 3 days (3 cm, 70% effaced, baby at -1 station). My next one is today for 39 week appt. On one hand I hope I'm making more progress, but on the other hand... I feel like this is dragging on and on, I keep getting my hopes up for nothing!

Not yet, I was suppose to have had one last week at my appointment, but my doctor was running an hour and a half behind as she was at the hospital with 2 deliveries ~ she generally only does then if you ask or if you are showing signs of labor, which I wasn't. But today I woke up with major pains in my lower abdomen (woke me up and kept me awake) and I think I'm finally starting to lose my MP, so I will be requesting an internal at my appointment this afternoon ~ guess I should also pack my bag now too ~ I've been so super bad at finding motivation to pack this thing.... Surprise

M: (1) How was your weekend?

My weekend was alright. we went to my parents house for the weekend 2 hours away and ended up in the hospital with really bad contractions but i wasnt making any progress, they said i am in labor but it is moving very slowly.

(2) Any baby/pregnancy updates?

I am 1 cm and 60% effaced and baby is very low and very BIG Tongue Tied

T: Are you having internals done?

My doctor wont do interals untill 41 weeks or when you are in labor but when i was in the L&D they checked .

I haven't had any internals yet and don't know what my OBs protocol for those are (I know some don't do them at all, some wait till 39 weeks, etc). I'm a scheduled c/s so I'm kind of hoping he doesn't do one.

I've had 3 internals done. I was at 1cm at just shy of 34 weeks and had two internals that day.

I was at "almost 2cm" at 36 weeks and opted not to be checked at my last appointment. I'll have another done at my next appointment on Thursday.

My Dr. does an internal at 36 weeks when he does the Group B Strep test. Basically anytime after 36 weeks he will not stop labor. I actually had my GBS this morning and was checked. I am sealed up tight and 0 efacement. The baby is just not ready yet!

Yes and yep -- about 70-80% effaced and 2 cm dilated as of a week ago. I have a feeling given all the bloody mucus last Thursday that both of those have increased at least a little.

Induction starts tonight so should have a birth announcement tomorrow, BTW!!!

M: Our weekend was good but boring. We didn't get any baby stuff done like I wanted to but it was nice to relax.

T: I had my 36 week appt today and baby is measuring right on target. They estimate that his weight is 6 lbs 1 oz. I was supposed to have an internal and GBS test today but my midwife put that on hold until next week since his measurements are still a little under 36 weeks.

M: (1) How was your weekend? I stayed in bed all weekend since I got out of the hospital late Friday night and my dr told me not to do anything. I got my hopsital bag packed and cleaned a little, but other than that nothing.

(2) Any baby/pregnancy updates? Well...I'm no longer a "July Sparkler" as I am having my LO today! Found out yesterday morning that my c-section is at 5pm today. Eek!

T: Are you having internals done? Any progress? No need as we've known I was gonna need a c-section due to positioning.
