Anyone else who might have to put off TTC?

I really want to TTC next summer but I'm afraid we may have to put it off for medical reasons.  It also bothers me that I don't think we will have moved by then (I hate our house/neighborhood).  I really want to have all our ducks in a row by the time we TTC #2 and I hate that we may have to wait longer than either of us wants to because of that.

And I totally have the baby fever.

    Yes.  We are planning on next summer but if our financial situation does not improve there is no way!!  DH has been laid off since feb and we seriously just tapped out our savings.  If money was no object- I'd be having another one pronto!

     I still consider DD to be a baby so no baby fever here!  Even though she is almost 1 yr. old! Honestly I think life is so much easier now that she is bigger. : )

    To answer your question we really wanted to upgrade our house before #2, however since we bought our house at the peak of the market and  everything sucks right now for us because we would lose LOTS of money if we sold right now. So I think we initally wanted them about two years or so apart. Now it may be more like 3 or 4 years apart with some serious reorganization in our current house since we will not be moving anytime soon. Plus the cost of childcare is crazy expensive. I cannot imagine being pregant right now. I am just now getting my body back and would like to get in shape again before TTC #2.

    I do! My DH and I would be thrilled if we got pregnant again but it just isn't smart. It isn't for financial reasons (but I guess in the long run it kind of is). I went back to school for nursing and it would be smart to wait until I am finished :(

    Us too. We'd like to start trying next summer, and we find out if DH gets his contract renewed around then. If he doesn't I'll have to go back to work. If he does, we're set for the next 15 years and we can go ahead and have a second baby.

    I totally have baby fever.  DH is deployed right now so that is making us hold off.... which is a good thing because we really cannot afford #2 right now.

    We're waiting (I don't want to...) because dh has an awful job right now where he works 6 days a week, minimum 12-14 hour days. But he's stuck since no one's hiring. When he gets a more normal job, then we'll ttc.

    We are planning on trying for #2 in August of next year.  Sometimes I really want another now but then the rational side kicks in.  We really could not afford another LO right now.

    Orig we said this August. When DD turned one. But now we may be selling our business due to the economy, the 1st thing people drop is the extra's which is gym memberships..sucks if you own a health club. It's to the point we're borrowing just to pay the mortgage & our property taxes got raised to $300,000 a year. It's nearly impossible to stay in business. My cousins husband is a captain for a FD 2 hours south so DH is testing for that dept. on Aug 15th. So if we're going to be moving we may wait, but I'd rather try asap so hopefully I'd deliver before a move (it's about 6 months of interviewing AFTER he gets called 90 days after 8/15 if he gets selected) because I had an ectopic before DD & my dr. is an ectopic specialist. I'd feel better sticking w/ my ob/gyn.

    We want to TTC in May of 2010, but we might have to sell our house so we may have to wait.  I dont want to wait to long though, I really want DS and our next baby to be 2-3 years apart.

    Yeah we are in the same boat. We wanted to start TTC next summer as well, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. We can't have 2 kids on DH's salary alone and I graduate (finally!) this december and am applying for grad school in january. I will have an Eng Lit degree and decided a little late that I want to teach. The masters program is a combo masters/teaching certification and is roughly 15 months so I want to be done with it before we TTC. I would like to have a job lined up as well. So realistically we would not be able to TTC for #2 until DS is around 4. Unless the economy picks up and DH's job starts giving raises again it will be a long time sadly. I have crazy baby fever right now too and it makes me sad that we will have to wait that long.

    I would LOVE a third baby BUT- we live in a 3 bedroom townhome, so we are pressed for space now.  And my DH is never home, and I'm going crazy with my 2!  Not sure how I'd handled 3 little ones without any family close by.  But I still feel like I'm getting the bug!  Must be the "wtf are you thinking? "bug.
