Anyone doing at home wax?

What do you use?  Does it get the job done?  I am tired of spending money at the salon.

Re: Anyone doing at home wax?

  • Ouch!  For eyebrows I tweeze between waxing to make it last for 2-3 months... the ladyscaping I wouldnt try myself!

  • I bought my own wax warmer at Sallys Beauty Supply (idk if CA has those?) and it was about 50 bucks but i've had it for over a year now. I do my own eyebrows and thats about it. If i wanted to do down below i would do it. After you buy the wax warmer you have to get wax and there are all different kinds for all types of waxing and skin types. I would recommend it if you know what your doing :-)

  • I've tried the wax strips, and they never worked for me.
  • I bought a jar of microwaveable wax at Sally Beauty Supply and the cloth strips. I have done my own bikini line and lower legs several times - it's a LOT cheaper than going to a salon, even though it does take more time. I haven't done it recently, but I didn't think it was that difficult to do myself.
  • Yes, I do my own underarms and bikini line... I use Surgi-wax.  You just stick it in the microwave, put in on, wait for it to cool and harden and peel it off.  No strips required!  It's easy for me, saves money and I can do it whenever I want :)
  • HOW CAN YOU THINK OF WAXING AT A TIME LIKE THIS????

    THEIR ARE STROLLERS TO CONSIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • I've done it at home a couple of times.  I did it myself once, but I just can't do that to myself.  I get it on and chicken out.  In college, I had a close girlfriend rip it off for me.  My husband has done it once but refuses now.  IDK why, but I think it hurts way more at home.  I'm nuts in the head though.  My best friend did her's until her bump got too big to see down there.
  • Ihave heard the surgi wax does not hurt that bad.  Thanks!
  • screw the wax, tell me about crib mattresses.
