Linea nigra - if you got one, when did it appear?

Re: Linea nigra - if you got one, when did it appear?

  • It started around the end of my first tri and grew up my belly as time went on. Now I'm starting to wonder if it'll ever disappear!

  • I'm pretty sure I had the beginnings of mine by 10 or 12 weeks, and it was almost all the way up to my chest by 20 weeks!  I hear for some women it never goes away completely. :(

Ugh. I do NOT want to be one of those women!

  • Mine appeared at the end of my first tri and I still have it.  It would be nice to know when it disappears as well.
  • Mine made an appearance around 24 weeks. I've heard you'll at least have it while breastfeeding.

I got it while pg with DD and it did not go away before I got pg with DS 9 months pp.  It did lighten a little.  I stopped BFing at 7ish months with #1.  DS is now 6 1/2 months and I am still BFing and I still have it.  It didn't get much darker after the initial fade, even getting pg again.  I barely notice it now, in fact I looked down at my belly to see the status before answering this post :)

ETA: I guess I should have read the post more carefully- I got mine at 29 weeks.

  • I can't remember exactly when it showed up, but I'd say early 2nd tri?
  • At 6mos both times. I'm 7mos PP w/my 2nd baby and it's still there, but very faint.
  • I "knew" it was there during my 2nd tri, but DH couldn't see it until the middle of my 3rd tri.  Mine was never really dark though.  To be completely honest, it's more noticeable now than it ever was during my PG.

I just noticed mine (it's still very light - almost a tan color) in the past week.

  • Surprisingly (a bit bizarre), mine showed up AFTER the baby was born both times!! It only stayed for a short while--maybe a couple of weeks.
